Something New

I was recently in Micheal's Craft Store and someone asked me for help because she could not reach something. Not because she was too short-I suffer the same "malady"myself-but because her arm would not cooperate.

We chatted a bit and she mentioned she had Fibro. I replied that I understood since I too had Fibro and some days were definitely better than others. The conversation was quick but she stated she did not have the horrible flairs she once did since her doctor prescribed Neurontin.
I had not heard of it so I brought it up at my next appointment with my RN. She was actually very positive about it and said she was going to recommend it for my insomnia. So we tried it. And I am finally sleeping better. I also have to say that while the exhaustion is not gone it is far better and so is my ability to deal with my pain. Again, it is not gone but it is better.

This is wonderful news and I am sharing in the hope that it will help someone else out there. My husband recently began taking it instead of his prescribed Ambien and finds he actually sleeps better and it is helping him deal with his arthritic pain as well.

I do so love serendipity! I am very grateful that I was where I was and that a stranger shared with me what helped her. It may or may not work for everyone but I am hopeful for the first time in a very long time.

An Essential Oil Blend For Fibromyalgia & More

Fibromyalgia can kick you from here to the end of the block and back again. Boosting serotonin is one way to help deal with pain, sleeplessness, depression, gut motility, endocrine function and a slew of other issues faced by those of us who suffer from Fibro.

Lately there is a lot of hype about essential oil usage, namely because of the marketing skills of a certain company whose name sounds a lot like Toe-Derra. I take personal issue with their tactics and even some or their recommendations. I won't get into them in any great detail here, however, I have always believed in the power of natural medicines and am happy to provide this information for a blend that works for some of my Fibro issues. I feel it is a good option for relief of some of my own issues and thought it might be appropriate for others.

Your mileage may vary of course-please do not take what information I am giving here as set in stone and certainly do not use it in place of your own physicians advice or prescription for your health.

How I "Caught" Fibromyalgia

How it all started...

While fibro is not something you can contract from another person or persons there are links to it being hereditary. I believe my paternal grandmother, my mother and father all suffered from it but it was at a time long before anyone ever thought to diagnose this syndrome.

My sister also had fibro. She was the first diagnosed person that I knew who suffered from it and it was that diagnosis that first brought my attention to this chronic condition. Because she had the illness I researched it, trying to find something that might help her. I recognized that I probably had a "touch of it" but did not want to admit that I was experiencing the same illness she had because it seemed to anger her that I would say such a thing. She told me I could not possibly have fibro because my symptoms were not completely the same as hers. Had she only known then what I know now, but she never will as she has passed on.
